Running AI Boost with another SEO extension
Joomla lets any number of extensions write into the same page. When two of them manage the same signal (the structured data, the Open Graph tags, the sitemap, the robots.txt), the site ends up with duplicates, or with whichever extension ran last quietly overruling the other. AI Boost notices the best-known cases and tells you. You decide which extension keeps each one.
You see it on the AI Boost Dashboard. When another enabled extension can write one of the parts AI Boost writes, that part’s card says Another extension that can write this is switched on. AI Boost never switches the other extension off and never changes its settings.
What you can do about it
- Switch the feature off in the other extension, and AI Boost keeps writing it.
- Or switch the part off in AI Boost, on its own screen (XML Sitemap, Robots.txt, Social Sharing, Structured Data, AI Discovery), and the other extension keeps it.
- On a staging or development copy, switch on Publish nothing at all on the Dashboard’s Publishing card. Your site then publishes nothing AI Boost adds, and every setting is kept for the moment you switch it back.
Extensions AI Boost detects
Detection only counts extensions that are installed and enabled. A disabled extension cannot conflict, so AI Boost stays quiet about it.
4SEO
What overlaps. 4SEO can write the Open Graph tags, the robots.txt, an llms.txt and the XML sitemap, and AI Boost writes all four. Run both and the page carries two sets of social tags, and only one of the two files can answer at each address.
What AI Boost does. It marks each of those parts on the Dashboard while 4SEO is enabled. It never disables 4SEO for you.
What to choose. One owner for each of the four. Switch the feature off in 4SEO to let AI Boost write it, or switch the part off in AI Boost to leave it to 4SEO.
sh404SEF
What overlaps. sh404SEF is mainly a URL router, and it can also write Open Graph tags and an XML sitemap. Those two are the collision points.
What AI Boost does. It marks the social tags and the sitemap on the Dashboard while sh404SEF is enabled.
What to choose. Keep sh404SEF for routing. AI Boost does no URL rewriting and will not fight it. Then decide who writes the social tags and the sitemap.
Admin Tools
What overlaps. Akeeba Admin Tools can write your robots.txt, and so can AI Boost. Only one of them should.
What AI Boost does. It marks robots.txt on the Dashboard while Admin Tools is enabled.
What to choose. Pick one owner. If you keep Admin Tools in charge, switch AI Boost’s lines off on the Robots.txt screen. If you want AI Boost to write them, turn the equivalent feature off in Admin Tools. Either way, if Admin Tools’ .htaccess hardening is on, allow sitemap.xml and llms.txt so those files stay reachable. There is a longer write-up in the Admin Tools compatibility guide.
OSMap / Xmap
What overlaps. OSMap and Xmap generate an XML sitemap, and so does AI Boost. You can end up submitting the same pages twice under different addresses.
What AI Boost does. It marks the sitemap on the Dashboard while either is enabled.
What to choose. Submit one sitemap to Search Console, not two. If you keep OSMap, switch AI Boost’s sitemap off on the XML Sitemap screen; the rest of AI Boost is unaffected. If you keep AI Boost’s, it is served at /sitemap.xml.
Joomla’s own Schema.org plugin
What overlaps. Joomla 5 ships a Schema.org system plugin that writes structured data into the page, and AI Boost writes structured data too.
What AI Boost does. It marks the page’s structured data on the Dashboard while Joomla’s plugin is enabled.
What to choose. One of the two. Disable Joomla’s plugin in the plugin manager, or switch AI Boost’s structured data off on Structured Data.
