Analytics & Tracking

Overview

The Analytics & Verification screen connects your Joomla site to the measurement tools you need: Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and search-engine ownership verification.

IndexNow and llms.txt are not on this screen — they live on AI Discovery.

Google Analytics 4

  1. Go to your Google Analytics account and create a new property (or open an existing one).
  2. Copy the Measurement ID — it starts with G- (e.g., G-XXXXXXXXXX).
  3. Paste it into the GA4 Measurement ID field on Analytics & Verification → Google.
  4. Set Enable GA4 to Yes and save.

AI Boost injects the GA4 tracking snippet on every page. No template modification needed.

GDPR / Consent Manager Integration

AI Boost can hold the GA4 tag back until your consent manager reports that the visitor has accepted analytics cookies. Which consent manager is used, and what counts as consent, is configured on Analytics & Verification → Consent — it is not automatic, and you should confirm on your own site that the tag behaves as you expect before relying on it.

Google Tag Manager

If you prefer to manage all tags through GTM:

  1. Copy your GTM Container ID (e.g., GTM-XXXXXXX).
  2. Enter it in the GTM Container ID field.
  3. Set Enable GTM to Yes and save.

AI Boost injects both the <head> GTM snippet and the <body> <noscript> fallback correctly.

Note: If you enable both GA4 and GTM, disable GA4 in AI Boost and manage it through GTM to avoid double-counting pageviews.

Google Search Console Verification

To verify your site ownership in Google Search Console without editing template files:

  1. In Google Search Console, choose the HTML tag verification method.
  2. Copy the content attribute value from the meta tag (a long string starting with google-site-verification=).
  3. Paste it into the GSC Verification Code field in AI Boost.
  4. Save, then click Verify in Google Search Console.

AI Boost injects the verification meta tag automatically on your homepage.

IndexNow

IndexNow is an open protocol that notifies Bing, Yandex, and Seznam the instant you publish or update a page — bypassing the standard crawl queue. Google does not take part in IndexNow.

IndexNow is configured on AI Discovery → URL Submission.

Setting up IndexNow

  1. Click Generate API Key on AI Discovery → URL Submission.
  2. AI Boost creates a random key, saves it, and serves it at yoursite.com/{key}.txt automatically.
  3. Set Enable IndexNow to Yes and save.

From this point, every time you publish or update an article, AI Boost sends an IndexNow notification automatically. That tells the participating engines a URL has changed sooner than their next crawl would — whether and when they index it remains their decision.

IndexNow is available on the Pro plans.

llms.txt

llms.txt is a plain text file that gives AI assistants (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude) a structured overview of your site's content before they crawl individual pages.

Enable Generate llms.txt on AI Discovery → Site Guides. AI Boost serves a dynamically generated llms.txt at yoursite.com/llms.txt, automatically including:

  • Your organization name and description
  • Key pages from your Joomla menu and sitemap
  • Your contact information

The file updates automatically when you change your organization details or add new content.

The base /llms.txt, the full-site index /llms-full.txt and the Markdown page endpoints are all included.

llms.txt is an emerging convention aimed at AI agents. Google has stated that it does not use llms.txt, and no other engine has published a commitment to read it either — treat it as a signal you make available, not as a ranking input.

Meta Pixel

On Analytics & Verification → Meta Pixel, enter your Meta Pixel ID from Facebook Business Manager and set Enable Meta Pixel to Yes. The pixel fires on every page load.

Meta Pixel integration is a paid feature available on the Pro plans.
